West40 are official partners with CFB. Please fill out the Referral Form on the Home page or Contact age for more assistance and information. The CFB will furnish an entire home. The cost is $50 per visit (can possibly be waived) to the CFB warehouse. Referrals and appts are required and so is transportation of the items you want.

The Maryville Crisis Nursery provides free, short-term care for parents in distress and experiencing a crisis. The Nursery protects children birth to age 6 from abuse, neglect, or trauma. Children receive round-the-clock child care for up to 72 hours for each stay. Issues that bring families to the Maryville Crisis Nursery include unemployment, parental illness/hospitalization, poverty and homelessness.

Teen Parenting Support

The main goal is to help teens identify their parenting needs and assist in removing the barriers that are preventing school attendance and ultimately graduation.
This includes:

Navigating specific educational needs to ensure equity

Empowering teen parents through life skills training

Daycare tours/interviews and assistance with IL Action for Children daycare application

Interviewing providers for prenatal and pediatric care

Liaison with providers in the community to create a support network for teen parents

Providing food resources, diaper, formula, wipes, clothes, and baby supplies

Partnering with parents supports children prenatal to preschool or kindergarden entry in Oak Park and River Forest through home visiting and group activities that help parents grow as their child's first teacher. Services are free and offered by highly qualified staff.

FF has a number of programs for families. A doula is a professional trained in childbirth that provides emotional, physical, and educational support to the family before, during, and after childbirth. Doula Services also include: virtual home visits, relaxation techniques, breastfeeding training, childbirth classes. Early Childhood Development services help parents with children ages 0-5 enhance their ability to provide and advocate for their families. Education and support services for parents during the early years significantly contribute to positive, healthy, child-rearing practices, prevention of abuse and neglect, and success in school. Programs offered to strengthen parental knowledge and skills, and reduce isolation. Services include: home visits, developmental screenings, prenatal and parenting support, education, fitness, and nutritional education, crisis intervention, referrals to health care providers and other community services, support groups for grandparents raising grandchildren.

The Family Support Program (FSP), formerly known as the Individual Care Grant program, provides access to intensive mental health services and supports to youth with severe emotional disturbance. The goal of the FSP is to support eligible youth and their families by strengthening family stability, improving clinical outcomes, and promoting community-based services.

New Moms supports young families in the Western Suburbs of Chicago including: Oak Park, River Forest, Cicero, Maywood, Forest Park, Berwyn, Bellwood, and Melrose Park. Services include: housing, job training, and family support.

SGA has a Prevention Initiative Parenting Program that is free. They collaborate with parents to ensure that their children are healthy, happy and prepared for school. Services include: In-person/virtual home visits, workshops, developmental screenings, group activities, and referrals to other resources.
CC a number of programs to help families. Their Family Stabilization services is the point of entry for those seeking emergency assistance, case assessment, advocacy, and/or referral to Catholic Charities programs or community resources. Services are available to Spanish-speaking. Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Support provides confidential counseling to individuals and families as they make life choices, and offers post-adoption support, registry, and search and reunion services. CC also has 2 child development centers in Berwyn and Summit.
